Ben Balser

Media Production Specialist

 

Mr. Balser has over 15 years of experience producing video and audio content, editing, compositing, coloring, and scoring.  His specialties are editing, color, and audio work, but he also has on hand an impressive array of production hardware from HD cameras, 12’ jib crane, professional wired and wireless audio kits, lighting, mobile and specialty camera rigging, backdrops, and more.  He has produced training, promotional, event, and dramatic works, as well sound tracks and Voice Overs, for a wide variety of clients.

Production & Post-Production

 

With over 20 years of enterprise level IT experience from being a field technician, trainer for technicians and end users, to a junior Project Manager on projects across the country from Canada to Puerto Rico, along with his current status as an Apple Certified Support Professional, and Final Cut Server administrator and trainer, Mr. Balser brings a valuable set of skills and experiences to the design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems.  Specializing in media production and Digital Signage, he has helped with small and large systems for businesses, independent studios, hospitals, state government, broadcast stations, and colleges.  Mr. Balser covers systems ranging from single workstations, to XSAN with Final Cut Server, to Focus Media Share, to multiple store front environments.

Consulting

Louisiana’s premiere Apple Certified Trainer, Ben has pioneered both Apple Authorized Training, independent seminars, custom corporate training, and user support (SLFCPUG) across Louisiana, even founding the Apple Authorized Training Center at the New Orleans Video Access Center.  Mr. Balser has taught for Apple Authorized Training Centers, conventions, training tours, and film festivals from Washington D.C, New York, Orlando, Atlanta, and Las Vegas, to Lafayette, LA.  Currently Mr. Balser’s home-base Apple training center is  Mac Consulting Group, Inc.  He also publishes an ever growing series of video tutorials for Apple’s Pro-Apps available through this site on the Training & Tutorials page.

In March 2006 the first installment of Mr. Balser’s creation “Cut Lines” appeared in Event DV magazine.  This regular column continues to run valuable tutorials for the Final Cut Studio suite of applications.  Having previously written for various industry magazines including WEVA, he continues to contribute informational articles and product reviews for various publications such as Louisiana Film & Video, Edit Well, and others.
